The Walk helps raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce women’s breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
Apart from skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer type in women. In fact, 1 in 8 American women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Through this amazing organization, breast cancer incidence rates have been declining since 2000 and breast cancer deaths have been declining since 1989. Early detection has played a key role in the dramatic decrease.
